Tirsdag d.28. april er der åbent hus i Thisted Ro- og Kajakklub. Der kommer nørder forbi der gerne vil hjælpe med at finde både digitale og analoge værktøjer til at blive mere uafhængige af techgiganter og skærme. 😊
Arrangementet er åbent for alle, men besøget har til formål at hjælpe os alle med at bruge mindre tid på skærm og mere tid på fjord. 😊

Science is Poetry is a tactical media response to an era of runaway AI, whose webcrawlers are non-consensually scraping human-made content for use in training their models. Concerned creators can use the project to protect their content by linking to it somewhere in the landing page of their wiki, website or blog. AI crawlers then encountering the link will be pulled off-site and entrapped in a maze of babble, a new page generated for each page consumed, forever.

Bertel Harder ved godt, han selv er er medvirkende i meget af det, han er ked af nu.
‘Jeg er ikke maskinstormer. Jeg er stolt over, at Danmark er et af verdens mest digitaliserede samfund. Langt foran Tyskland. Som undervisningsminister ivrede jeg for it i undervisningen’
Ja, det gjorde han, og det endte med PC-kørekort og brug af Google og Microsoft, desværre.
Men han så også gerne et mere simpelt samfund nu – mindre computer, mere menneske og måske også et sted, hvor der var bedre plads til kontant betaling i foreninger?
‘Er der nogen, der for alvor har gennemtænkt og evalueret fordele og ulemper ved det elektroniske helvede, vi på mange måder har omdannet vores samfund til?
Hvorfor skal vi forbitre tilværelsen for foreningslivet, virksomhederne og de sociale institutioner af hensyn til datasikkerheden?
Kan vi ikke bekæmpe hvidvask uden de ulemper og personaleudvidelser, der påføres bankerne, foreningerne og mange andre?’.
Og så savner han den ‘personlige betjening’ som vore banker – og staten – skyer som pesten:
‘Vore servicevirksomheder digitaliserer på livet løs, og godt for det. Men kunne det tænkes, at de også gjorde enkelhed og forståelighed til en konkurrenceparameter?
Hvornår finder de ud af at tilbyde manuel og personlig betjening, hvis man er villig til at betale for det? Så man igen kan få en person i røret, når man vil bestille en ydelse?’
Så langt så godt. Men han skriver også: ‘Vi har heldigvis gjort det muligt at fravælge elektronisk kommunikation med det offentlige’
Og det er jo en sandhed med modifikationer, i et samfund, der konstant kræver mitID og login og hvor vi har afskaffet postvæsenet – af hensyn til ‘konsulentnørderne og Finansministeriets Regnedrenge’….
Måske er det ikke for sent at se mod det Tyskland, som Bertel Harder hidtil har troet han var foran?

Our position may risk disapproval, perceived backwardness, and the outward appearance of naiveté. But let us not ask what the Silicon Valley oligarchs can do for Oberlin students, but what Oberlin students can do for ourselves while we still have the brain capacity to do so.

Er Dennis Knudsen mon analogist?
Dennis Knudsen berettede, at situationen opstod, da han opdagede, at der var computere ved prøvestedet, og derfor spurgte han tilsynsførende, om teoriprøven foregik på computeren – det gjorde den, sagde han.
– Så går jeg helt i baglås. Hvis der er noget, jeg ikke kan bruge, så er det computere, sagde Knudsen og fortalte, at han har det, han kalder ‘computerskræk’.
– Jeg kan ikke finde ud af det. Det er teknisk umuligt og svært for mig.

Amid this digital backlash there has been growing interest in – and celebration of – analogue media technologies and offline or ‘IRL’ (‘in real life’) experiences. Sales of vinyl records are the highest they have been in 30 years, with vinyl reportedly outselling streaming subscriptions (Titcomb, 2022) and independent record shops experiencing a major resurgence (Evitts and Trenholm, 2024) (Figure 1.1). Printed books are outselling eBooks, and Gen Z are apparently turning to libraries to escape the ‘oversaturation and noise’ of the digital world (Mac Donnell, 2024; see also Sweney, 2020). The jigsaw puzzle and boardgame industries are thriving (Sweney, 2021; Thorén, 2021; Kviat, 2024). Audio cassette production has been rejuvenated, and new cassette players are being brought to market (Ledsom, 2020; Savage, 2021). Polaroid has re-launched its line of instant film cameras, while Kodak is releasing its first new super 8 film camera in decades. Celluloid filmmaking is experiencing a resurgence, with an increasing number of films being shot on 35mm and 70 mm (IMAX) […] (the timespace of the cinema itself is being reframed by some theatre owners as a temporary ‘digital detox’ where audiences switch off their mobile phones and disconnect from the distractions of the digital world). Typewriter repair shops are opening. Postcards are making a comeback (Skopeliti, 2024). Artists are engaging with analogue printing and production methods, creating handcrafted zines, posters, and other paper-based ephemera (Crocket, 2024; Seedlings Studio, 2024). The renewed popularity of handmade goods and craft production has been linked to a broader cultural desire for ‘the material, the tactile, the analogue’ in a digital age (Luckman, 2013: 251). Sales of Moleskine notebooks are soaring, with ‘good old fashioned’ pen and paper increasingly perceived as a way to avoid smartphones and remain focused and creative (Yuan, 2021; Allen, 2024). Paper-based offices are making a comeback as workflow managers attribute productivity declines to employees’ digital overload from continuous emails and notifications (Newport, 2021: 249; Taylor et al, 2026). According to one workplace productivity report, 96 per cent of officer workers in the United States prefer to work with hard copies over digital versions (Paper and Packaging, 2019). Paper is also being positioned as a solution to digital problems such as cyberattacks and data loss.

Once the internet was hailed for its liberating capabilities, but it is now blamed for a host of societal ills.
