Københavns Universitet og RUC har undersøgt, hvor meget af vores arbejdstid, vi bruger på at vente på, at computeren gør det, vi prøver at få den til. Resultaterne var ikke opmuntrende: 11-20% af arbejdsdagen bruges på IT-problemer. Der er i gennemsnit een frustration i timen.
Deltagerne, som også inkluderede professionelle IT-folk, rapporterede omkring et problem eller en frustration i timen. Taget i betragtning at deltagerne i gennemsnit bruger 6-8 timer om dagen foran en computerskærm, ender det med at blive rigtig mange problemer.
“Resultaterne er jo lidt sjove, men det er jo også bekymrende: Hvis en ud af fem arbejdsdage i værste fald bruges på frustrerende teknikudfordringer, så er produktivitetstabet enormt,” siger Morten Hertzum’
”Frustrationerne skyldes ikke, at folk bruger deres computer til noget meget avanceret, men at den giver problemer i udførelsen af dagligdags opgaver. Man bliver nødt til i endnu højere grad, end det er tilfældet nu, at inddrage brugerne i processen med at udvikle bedre computersystemer,” siger Morten Hertzum.
